Car Seat Foundation is a non-profit organization driven by a single goal: helping children ride safely in the proper car seat for their age, weight, and height — making sure it is correctly installed and used every single trip.

Our team of highly trained child passenger safety specialists and instructors brings over 30 years of experience to this vital work. We are committed to building lasting relationships and making a positive impact on communities throughout Ohio.

  • A certified child passenger safety technician will examine your car seat to make sure it's the right type for your child's age, height, and weight. They'll check that the seat is installed correctly in your vehicle and that your child is buckled in properly. If anything needs adjustment, they'll show you how to fix it and explain why — so you'll feel confident doing it on your own. The whole process usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Please bring your child (or know their current height and weight), your car seat, and your vehicle.

  • Car seat checks with Car Seat Foundation are free. Our mission is to make car seat safety accessible to every family.

  • Car Seat Foundation provides training to help individuals earn national CPS technician certification. The certification course covers car seat types, installation techniques, Ohio law, and hands-on practice. It's ideal for first responders, healthcare workers, social workers, and anyone passionate about child safety.

  • Absolutely. We regularly partner with fire departments, police departments, hospitals, community centers, and other organizations to host car seat check events and safety education sessions.
